BIBIJAE began as a restaurant—a place where people could enjoy thoughtfully prepared Korean food.
But over time, I realized that many visitors were looking for something more. They wanted to understand the stories behind the dishes, the traditions that shaped them, and the values they represent.
That's why BIBIJAE TABLE was created. Not simply to teach recipes, but to offer a deeper experience of Korea through cooking, conversation, and shared meals. Because food tells us not only what people eat, but also how they live, what they value, and how they connect with one another.
Meet Jiyoung & Jonathan
Before becoming a chef, I spent many years as a lecturer. Teaching was meaningful to me, but my passion for food, which began at a young age, continued to grow stronger over time. Eventually, that passion led me to change careers and dedicate myself to the world of food.
Over the years, that journey led Bibijae to receive the Michelin Bib Gourmand award. But what matters most to me is helping people discover Korea beyond the guidebooks. I believe Korean food becomes more meaningful when we understand the stories and traditions, and values behind it.
Although I left the classroom, I never stopped teaching. Today, I simply teach in a different way—through food, stories, and shared experiences.
